June 25th - 16:00 - 17:30 | JCMS Annual Lecture with Professor Mark Copelovitch

🌍 Europe Adrift: The Future of the EU, the Global Economy, and World Order in an Era of Great Power Uncertainty.

As global power dynamics shift, Europe stands at a crossroads. Russia’s war in Ukraine, precarious transatlantic ties, and China’s growing influence are reshaping the international order, posing some of the greatest challenges the EU has ever faced. In this era of uncertainty, what role will Europe take on?

Mark Copelovitch will address three key questions confronting scholars of European and international politics:

♦️ How are global crises and changes shaping domestic policies in the EU and its member states?⚖️

♦️ What do these shifts mean for the EU’s economic influence and the future of the euro? 💶

♦️How will they impact transatlantic relations, international cooperation, and the liberal international order? 🌎

June 26th - 11:00 - 12:30 | Beyond the Statistics - Amplifying the Voices of Ukraine. A documentary film highlighting the personal journeys of Forcibly Displaced Ukrainian Citizens Arriving in Philadelphia

Since the full scale invasion by Russia, mainstream media reports are focused on death, destruction and statistics. We wanted to change the narrative and share the personal stories and human impact of families displaced by the invasion. We share the power of a grassroots effort of an idea, community support, higher education faculty and students, nonprofits in Poland and the courage and determination of Ukrainian families in search of freedom and safety. Beyond the Statistics provides a different lens to share with our youth as we develop empathy and compassion in the future global citizens of the world.

Panel Participants:
