✅ Step-by-Step Guide: Submitting a Pre-Formatted Panel Proposal

To submit a proposal for a Pre-Formatted Panel at CES 2026, follow the steps below.


🔐 Before You Begin: Log In

You’ll need CES login credentials to access the submission portal.

  • If you already have a CES account, log in using your existing credentials.

  • If you don’t have an account, register here. You do not need to purchase a membership — just create a free account.

📌 Reminders Before You Start

  • Only one person (the organizer) should submit the proposal for the pre-formatted panel proposal.

  • The organizer will need to provide:

    • Panel Title

    • Abstract (up to 250 words)

    • Chair 

    • Contact info for up to 4 panelists:
      Name and Email

🔁 Each person may submit up to two individual papers and one roundtable/book panelist proposal. Chair/discussant roles do not count toward this limit.

💾 If you need to pause, click “Save” at the bottom of the page. You can return later via the “My Proposals” tab on the welcome page.


🧭 Submission Process

Step 1: Start Your Submission

  1. Click the “Submit” button in the top menu.

  2. On the submission page, choose your Submission Type from the dropdown menu:

    • Book Panel: For book panels

    • Paper Panel: For pre-formatted paper panel submissions

    • Single Paper (Paired): If your paper belongs to a pre-formatted panel

    • Single Paper (Unpaired): If submitting a paper individually

    • Roundtable: For roundtables

If submitting a Pre-Formatted Panel, only the panel title and panelists' names/emails are needed. Each panelist must submit their paper separately using the Single Paper (Paired) option, and indicate which panel it belongs to.

  1. Once you’ve selected your submission type, add Title of the submission (this should be the name of your panel) and click “Save and Next.”


Step 2: Collaborators (Optional)

You can allow others to access/edit the submission by clicking “Manage Collaborators.”
This is optional, and only one person needs to submit the proposal.


Step 3: Submission Information

Provide:

  • Let us know If your panel is part of a Mini-symposium or not

  • Submitter’s contact details

  • Chair/moderator information

  • Abstract


Step 4: Add Panelists

For each panelist:

  1. Click “Add Panelist”

  2. Fill in required details

  3. Click “Add”

✅ Don’t forget to add yourself if you're also a panelist!

Please do not re-add the panel chair here. This information will be used to pair the correct panelists to your panel.

Once all panelists are added, click “Save and Next.”


Step 5: Disciplinary Tags

Select:

  • Your Primary and Secondary Discipline

  • Up to 3 tags that best describe your proposal

This helps CES assign reviewers and schedule sessions.


Step 6: Research Networks

If you're part of a CES Research Network:

  • Choose ONE network that best aligns with your proposal.

If not affiliated with any network, select “None of the above.”

Click “Save and Next.”


Step 7: Consent

Let us know:

  • If you’re interested in serving as a moderator or discussant

  • If CES may share your contact info with co-panelists for planning purposes


Step 8: Special Requests

Add any:

  • Scheduling requests (e.g., dates/times you are unavailable)

  • Other relevant notes

CES will try to accommodate these, but cannot guarantee all requests.


Step 9: Submit Your Proposal

  1. Click “Save and Finalize.”

  2. Review your proposal when prompted.

  3. Click “OK” to submit or “Cancel” to make changes.

⚠️ You cannot edit the proposal after final submission.


✅ After Submission

  • You’ll see a confirmation message and receive an email with your proposal number.

  • Keep this number for any future communication regarding your session.

To view or manage your submissions:

  1. Go to “My Account” > “My Proposals.”

  2. From there, you can:

    • Edit drafts

    • View submitted proposals
